Since 1900, we’ve supplied Muscatine area families with safe, reliable drinking water

- it’s one of our highest priorities.

Since 1900, we’ve supplied Muscatine area families with safe, reliable drinking water - it’s one of our highest priorities. Our water requires little treatment because it comes from the Muscatine Island Aquifer, which consists of natural, high quality water, and maintaining it while keeping the service at competitive rates enhances quality of life, supports Muscatine’s economy and protects our local natural resources.

Our water staff is local, drinking the same water you drink, repairing main breaks, working on water-related construction projects, and conducting state required testing in our state-certified lab. From the wellfields to your tap, we work hard to ensure your drinking water meets all water quality standards and that it tastes great.

Water Quality

True confidence in your water

Muscatine Power and Water’s water surpasses all state and federal regulations, all the time. With every water staff member licensed through the Iowa DNR, we perform over 14,000 water sample tests each year, continually monitoring and ensuring the quality of the water we deliver to our homes and yours.

Water Delivery & Responsibility

When your water lines break

While we maintain and repair water distribution mains, water service lines that connect to those mains are privately owned water service lines by you, the customer. Repairing or replacing water service lines can be confusing and create unexpected costs - we’ve created some helpful information and a solution to help customers pay for repairs.
