Located on the Mississippi River, the Greater Muscatine Area is filled with hunting, fishing, and plenty of outdoor family fun. Downtown Muscatine offers direct boat access to the Mississippi River less than 1 mile from Lock and Dam 16. Several major lakes and state recreation areas, including the famed Pine Creek Grist Mill at Wilcat Den State Park, are all within a 20 minute drive of downtown Muscatine.
We celebrate our Iowa Heritage and maintain our Midwest traditions of hospitality and folk culture. The Muscatine Art Center houses local works of art as well as pieces from van Gogh, Picasso, Degas, Marc Chagall, Georgia O’Keeffe, and Allen Houser. The Muscatine Symphony Orchestra plays several concerts throughout the year and is a great way to enjoy a musical evening. Ardon Creek Vineyard and Winery is located in Muscatine County and is open for tours and other events.
