Guidelines for Visiting Sales Representatives

Muscatine Power and Water's Supply Chain Services sources and utilizes vendors that offer high quality products and services at competitive costs. We strive to maintain an open and competitive environment while developing mutually beneficial relationships. When available, multiple sources are quoted prior to purchase.

Regulations

  1. All vendor sales representative visits or demonstrations at any MP&W site or with any employee must be scheduled in advance with MP&W Supply Chain Services. We are not obligated to accommodate unannounced calls. Information may be left at MP&W, and a visit scheduled for another time.
  2. Disregard for MP&W's procurement policies or any instructions as identified in bid/quote documents or posted property signs will result in immediate action up to and including termination of the business relationship.
  3. Disregard for instructions from MP&W employees will result in dismissal from MP&W property.

Procedures

  1. Vendor representatives will be permitted access to MP&W facilities by scheduled appointment only.
  2. All vendor representatives visiting MP&W must sign-in at the appropriate Contact Point and present a valid photo ID to access MP&W property.
  3. MP&W's Supply Chain Services Office or Receptionist will contact the appropriate and intended employee(s) to verify the vendor representative's scheduled visit.
  4. Upon verification, a visitor’s badge will be issued. Vendor representatives attempting to contact MP&W employees who are not authorized for the visit will be asked to report to the Supply Chain Services office.
  5. Upon completion of an authorized visit, all vendor representatives must check out and return badge to location where issued.
