Save Energy. Save Money - It Makes Good Business Sense

Did you know up to 40 percent of commercial electric costs might be attributed to lighting?
If you are a school, church, or a business owner, MP&W offers rebates to commercial customers who upgrade to new, more energy efficient lighting. See how savings can add up for fluorescent lighting.

Lighting Audit
To learn how to conserve energy and cut costs, call MP&W Energy Services Specialist Paul Burback at (563) 262-3423 for a free business lighting evaluation. We’ll explain our rebate program, help inventory existing lighting, examine and recommend energy efficiency lighting alternatives, and calculate potential savings, the internal rate of return, and the net present value. After new lighting is installed, we verify the new fixtures, and process the rebate.

Recycle Fluorescent Lamps – It's the Law!
For decades, fluorescent lamps containing mercury have ended up in our wells, rivers, streams, lakes, and food chain. The EPA has ruled that companies are now responsible for recycling fluorescent lamps and other products containing mercury. Businesses are required by Iowa law to treat fluorescent bulbs as hazardous waste. Even if your fluorescent tubes have green end caps, or are low mercury, they still contain mercury and must be recycled. Call the Muscatine Transfer Station at (563) 263-9698 for more details on how you can recycle.
